Vegvisir Shield

This was a really fun build and I got do to a few things that I’ve never done before, like making a circle jig for my router and spending quite a bit of time routering out Vegvisir so I could fill it with resin. I ordered the shield boss from @strobus_forge on Instagram, or maybe it was on his Etsy page. Either way, he’s a Canadian blacksmith and the quality on the shield boss is amazing!
I hand riveted it to the shield with copper rivets and used copper nails to attach the water buffalo leather edge wrap. I decided to make it a little more rustic and worn, which meant scratching up the shield before staining and finishing it to make the details stand out.

Made from Ash and Black Walnut, stained with Ebony stain and finished with water based Varnish
