Rustic Walnut Bowl and Surprise Mushroom!

This bowl was a commission order from a dear friend in Colorado. She wanted to get her mom a handmade bowl to use to show off her cooking creations in photos and maybe eat out of from time to time! This ended up being the second version of this bowl as I blew through the bottom of the first one I made…yeah… Now mistakes happen, and it wouldn’t be much of an issue except this bowl was to be a Mother’s Day gift and time was ticking. Luckily I had enough wood from the piece of rustic walnut I bought to make another bowl and even had enough time to turn a little mushroom as a surprise for my friend! I just felt it would be a really cool if both of them had something from the same piece of wood, plus my friend is a mycophile so I figured she’d appreciate a pocket mushroom!

I do have a YouTube video of this build coming…soon…I promise!
