One Year Later || From FIRED to Happy || Q&A Session
This has been quite a year! Literally going from working at a soul crushing, depressing job to being able to work in my shop everyday and make amazing projects for you. A lot has gone on in a short 365 days, and I'm so happy to share this video with you!
GLITTER Mushroom || Trolling a Troll
This was a lot of fun! Not only did I get to make a cute little Wenge and Maple Mushroom for my buddy, but I got to glitter his shop halfway around the world. Hopefully I didn't make him too uncomfortable in how I made it for him ;-)
Added bonus - Let us know in the comments who you think won the glue flip! (ME! Obviously) Sure he has flair, but anyone can put a magnet in a glue bottle and string up some fishing line ;-)
Make sure to check out Matt on Instagram and give him a follow!

Bedroom to Studio Reno || DEMOLITION || Part 1
So, the demolition has begun in the bedroom renovation. I've been wanting to do something with this room for years and I've finally decided to turn it into a recording and editing studio.
I want to put my desk in the closet and have an amazing backdrop full of things I've made. It's definitely not necessary to have a dedicated room for editing videos and recording audio, but it will be nice to move out of the living room and be able to focus on creating even more content for you!
NES Coffee Table || Bubble Bobble
Who remembers Bubble Bobble!!! This is such a weird and amazing game!
Hope you enjoy watching me take a crack at it on the NES Coffee Table!

NES Coffee Table || 100% FUNCTIONAL!
This is probably my most favorite project that I've ever made! About 10 years ago I made this for a friend as a wedding gift. I had the outline done in 1/2 a day, but then realized it HAD to work!
So over the next 6 months of evenings and weekends I made it into a fully functional NES controller!

Making a(nother) Hidden Bookcase || Part 4
In today's episode of HewTube, we're making another hidden bookcase! This one was built for a client which means I had to make a real plan and make sure this thing fit in place when it was delivered. No second chances this time!
Part 4: We figure out how to make the latching mechanism work and we cut up a copy of The Da Vinci Code to use as the secret book!
Making a(nother) Hidden Bookcase || Part 3
In today's episode of HewTube, we're making another hidden bookcase! This one was built for a client which means I had to make a real plan and make sure this thing fit in place when it was delivered. No second chances this time!
Part 3: Is all about the face frame and stain. There's a lot of tricky cuts with this design as the casing needs to move with the bookcase when it opens.
Making a(nother) Hidden Bookcase || Part 2
In today's episode of HewTube, we're making another hidden bookcase! This one was built for a client which means I had to make a real plan and make sure this thing fit in place when it was delivered. No second chances this time!
Part 2: I'm installing some heavy duty wheels (2700lbs rated) on a massive piece of angle iron. We're also using 4 of the beefiest SOSS hinges to make sure this thing swings properly when it's fully loaded with books!
Making a(nother) Hidden Bookcase || Part 1
In today's episode of HewTube, we're making another hidden bookcase! This one was built for a client which means I had to make a real plan and make sure this thing fit in place when it was delivered. No second chances this time!
Part 1: We're making the bookcase carcass and I decided to add a hidden compartment on the fly! This idea came to me as I was going through the introduction of the video and you can see the moment of epiphany!

A birthday gift for my Mom!
Today's episode of HewTube is more of a Vlog and getting to know the maker behind Hewman Made! That's me, Hew!
Come on a walk with me as I talk about a birthday gift for my mom, a little about my past, how bad I am at wrapping a gift and how amazing my mom is at glass blowing and sculpting!
If you want to know more about me, ask me a question in the comments and I'll either answer you there or add your question to an upcoming Hew Who? video!
Making a base for Mjölnir
Part 2 of making a mini Mjolnir business card/sticker holder! I tried my best to do it in a day, but I just couldn't get it finished in time! Come check out what went wrong and how it turned out
Looks like I'm worthy!
I decided to try and make Mjolnir and a business card/sticker holder base in one day!
One day workbench build
A simple project today, the classic workbench with a twist! Well maybe not a twist, but more of a sliding action. I've always wanted a workbench along this wall in my shop and I finally got around to building one with two slide out tool bases. This brought my small bandsaw and sander to counter-height which just seems like a much better idea!
This is a pretty simple build, that you can definitely knock out in a weekend with standard tools! All you really need is a drill/driver/screw-gun and a basic saw, like a skill saw or even a jigsaw and a straight edge. Yes, it's easier and faster with a miter saw, but you could do it all with a handsaw if you really wanted to!
As you can tell I don't take myself too seriously and it's all about being able to have fun in the shop, make something that works for you and learn that it's ok to make a mistake or 12 along the way!
Ugly Staircase Facelift!
I think these might have been the ugliest stairs in the land!
One of the previous owners had 'removed' the linoleum from the stairs and this was the state they were left. It wasn't a deal breaker for me as I knew one day I'd get around to making them pretty!
Now that day's finally come and it brought with it mixed emotions. I'm so happy with the way they look and a little upset with myself for not doing it sooner! But don't worry, the sadness is far outweighed by the joy :)
Secret Lamp Latch
In this video I'm making a little Robot Lamp to open up the Secret Bookcase I made in Part 1 of the series! Come along for the ride and watch me make some mistakes along the way!
Secret Book Latch
In this video I'm making a Secret Book to open up the Secret Door I made in Part 2 of my Hidden Things Series! Come along on this wild ride and see how this build went perfectly and EXACTLY to plan......maybe.....
Secret Door Build
Who hasn't wanted a secret door or bookcase in their house that leads into a hidden room?! I know I've always wanted one and now I have both!
Part 2 of this series is making a hidden door under the stairs that can be used for so many different things, like naps, magic, or even storage!! It's probably going to be used for storage... This is a trial and error type build and you can watch me figure out everything out as I go!
Secret Bookcase Build
Who hasn't wanted a secret door or bookcase in their house that leads into a hidden room?! I know I've always wanted one and now I have both!
Part 1 of this series is making a hidden bookcase that leads into my woodshop. This is a trial and error type build and you can watch me figure out everything out as I go, mistakes and all.
Making your own Edge Burnisher
Long story short, I can be pretty cheap at times and the though of spending $10 on something I could make, made my brain itch. So instead of spending a little bit of money I spent way more in time and materials to make my own Edge Burnisher.
Axe Restoration - Custom leather sheath and handle wrap
A friend commissioned me to fix up his horrible hatchet. This thing had seen better days and was so blunt it could barely cut butter. He wanted a Toronto Raptors logo on the handle and other than that I had free reign to design and put my own spin on the final product! Thanks for the Trust!
Cross Stitching Leather- Tutorial
I felt like this was a pretty stitch and something you can do yourself! So, why not make a quick tutorial and share a little of what I do.
Snap Setting with a Die Press
I picked up a set of snap dies for line 24 (12mm) snaps and I wanted to give them a review. This was the first test and they worked out splendidly!
Building a Robot Lamp!
Give me 15 minutes, and I'll show you how I made this little robot pipe lamp!
