NES Coffee Table

This was a gift for two of my best friends when they got married! My buddy Jonny had asked me to store some Red Oak for him while him and his, soon to be wife, were travelling around the world. When they were getting back to Canada they were going to get married and I had about 6 months to figure out a wedding gift for them. Jonny is the kind of guy that still has and plays NES, so I decided that I was going to make him a NES coffee table.

Now I had it designed and laid out in about a day nd realized there was a problem. If it didn’t work as an actual controller…there was no point in making it. So I spend a few months figuring out the engineering and made it into a 100% functional NES controller!

All you have to do is lift off the glass top, plug in the table and play NES right on the table! Best part was I used the Red Oak that he’d left with me to store for him, so I didn’t even need to buy any wood!
